The primary power feed for the repeater is via a dedicated 200 amp 240/110 volt single phase PG&E service. The primary breaker is sized at 50 amps. Emergency power is obtained from a 400 kw Propane fed generator that is common to other commercial equipment located on the mountain. The generator is programmed to run at load for 20 minutes once a week. Baycom provides it's own switching logic so that power transfers to the generator are only permitted when a loss of PG&E is also detected. The sequencing of power is timed for each building and presently set for transfers to occur 9 and 10 seconds after the generator is up to voltage with the commercial equipment loads on line. For other than the weekly load test the generator is programmed to remain on for about 5 min after PG&E comes back on line to insure that PG&E power is stabilized.
